Last week’s releases, Mirai and Kishkindhapuri, opened to positive response at the box office. While Mirai had a strong start from day one, Kishkindhapuri began on a decent note due to mixed reviews. However, thanks to good word of mouth, the film gradually picked up momentum and registered impressive footfalls over the weekend.
Now, both films step into the crucial weekdays phase. Mirai is leading comfortably in terms of collections, but Kishkindhapuri too is holding steady and moving towards breakeven. If the momentum continues, trade circles believe that both films have the potential to emerge as clean hits, following the success of Little Hearts.
Reportedly, Mirai collected worldwide estimates of around Rs. 80 crores in all five languages and had a sensational start at the box office. It has also surpassed the opening weekend collections of Teja Sajja’s previous film, HanuMan. If Mirai continues this trend over this week, it will end up as a big blockbuster at the box office.
On the other side, Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas-starrer Kishkindhapuri’s earnings jumped significantly on day 2 and day 3, compared to the first day, due to a decent word of mouth. This horror thriller reportedly earned around Rs. 11.5 crore in three days and needs only around 4 crores to break even. If it maintains these steady collections throughout the week, it may end up as a clean hit for Bellamkonda after a long time.
