I Can’t Betray Dhanush: GV Prakash

The audio launch of Idli Kadai was held yesterday with the film’s team attending the event. The movie is directed by Dhanush, who also plays the lead role.

During the audio launch, GV Prakash shared an interesting story about his bond with Dhanush. He said that Dhanush once asked him to play his brother in Raayan. But since the role involved betraying Dhanush’s character, he chose not to do it. GV Prakash explained that he could not betray his close friend, even if it was only for the sake of acting. His words reflected the strong personal connection between them.

Dhanush also spoke about the music of Idli Kadai. He said GV Prakash did not make songs just for reels or follow short-lived trends. Instead, he created tracks that are rooted and connect with listeners. Dhanush mentioned songs like Enjaami Thandhane and Enna Sugam as examples of GV Prakash’s work.

Dhanush further added that senior composers like GV Prakash have the responsibility of setting the right musical taste for the younger generation, especially with new composers like Sai Abhyankkar entering the industry.

Idli Kadai is produced by Aakash Baskaran and Dhanush under Dawn Pictures and Wunderbar Films. The cast includes Dhanush, Nithya Menen, Arun Vijay and Shalini Pandey. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music. The film is set to release on October 1. In Telugu, it will release as Idli Kottu on the same day.
