Legendary Actor Mohanlal To Receive Dadasaheb Phalke Award

The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is highest award in Indian cinema. It was started in 1969 to honour people who have made a lifetime contribution to films. Over the years, many great actors, directors and technicians have received this award for their work in film industry.

This time, honour goes to Malayalam superstar Mohanlal. Government of India has announced that he will receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2023. The decision was made on recommendation of the award selection committee.

The award will be given to him at 71st National Film Awards ceremony, which will be held on September 23, 2025, in New Delhi. Mohanlal will be presented with award in the presence of film personalities, officials and guests.

Mohanlal acted in more than 350 films in his career that has lasted over four decades. Also known for his natural acting style, his ability to perform in a wide range of roles. Apart from Malayalam films, he also worked in other languages and gained recognition across the country. Also made films as a director and producer.
