Pawan Kalyan’s OG is gearing up for a grand release on the 25th of this month. Directed by Sujeeth, the film unit completed the censor formalities and received an A certificate for the film, which is quite unexpected.
Reportedly, the team wanted a U/A certificate from the censor board, but for that, the makers had to undergo a lot of changes, including several cuts. The team tried their best to make these changes and modifications minimal. Even then, things did not go as planned. However, in the end, the team had to settle for A certificate with eight modifications/changes suggested by the censor board.
Already, Pawan Kalyan opened up on the struggles his films usually face. Speaking at the pre-release event yesterday, Pawan Kalyan opened up that he does not get anything just like that, but will have to face many obstacles. For example, he mentioned censorship issues without revealing the full story.
However, A certificate for OG means that the film will be available for Adults only. The kids and teenagers under 18 will be restricted from watching the movie, which means that the turn out of families could be less during the festival. Since it is the festival time, the families would usually watch any film in theatres.
But with an ‘A’ certificate for OG, kids won’t be allowed to watch the film. While multiplexes usually follow this rule strictly, many single screens and B & C centres in rural areas don’t apply these conditions as rigidly, which could turn out to be a positive sign for OG.
Having said that, if the film’s content is strong enough, it would pull the audiences to theatres which we witnessed in the case of Salaar and Animal.
Directed by Sujeeth, OG will release on 25th of this month.
