Illegal Car Smuggling: Raids on Dulquer & Prithviraj Houses

Telangana political scenario is already buzzing with the news of illegal import of mostly cars by a businessman named Basarath Khan. Reportedly, the convoys of KTR & Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy feature cars imported by Basarath Khan, and he is accused under the DRI scanner for smuggling & undervaluing luxury cars. Meanwhile, the Customs Preventive Wing officials in Kerala conducted raids at the residences of popular Malayalam actors.

As per the reports, the officials initiated Mission Numkhor, and as part of the same, they targeted high-profile net worth individuals. Customs officials have examined the houses of actors Dulquer Salmaan and Prithviraj Sukumaran in Kochi.

The officials conducted raids in around 30 locations, including Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Kuttippuram, and Thrissur. They identified illegal importing involves 10 to 15 violations, including forgeries on the Parivahan website of the Motor Vehicles department and our website.

The officials are suspecting that new vehicles have been illegally imported as used vehicles through Bhutan.
