September has been a busy month for Telugu cinema with back-to-back big releases. Among them, Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG has been the most awaited film. The movie is set to begin its premieres in India and overseas on Wednesday night at 10 PM IST, and the advance bookings are creating records.
Worldwide, OG is close to touching ₹100 crore in pre-sales. Very few films and stars have managed this kind of advance booking before, showing the strong hype and craze for the film.
In Hyderabad, where Pawan Kalyan has always had a strong following, OG has achieved an all-time record. With the help of his massive craze, the special premiere shows, and the recent ticket price hike, the movie collected more than ₹20 crore in advance sales in the city alone.
Before this, Pushpa 2 held the top spot with nearly ₹19 crore in Hyderabad. Kalki 2898 AD also recorded close to ₹19 crore, just below Pushpa 2. The third position was taken by Devara, with about ₹18 crore. Now, OG has gone past all of them to set a new record with ₹20 crore pre-sales.
They Call Him OG stars Pawan Kalyan along with Emraan Hashmi, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Arjun Das, Sriya Reddy, and Prakash Raj. It is directed by Sujeeth, with music by Thaman S, and produced by DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari under DVV Entertainments.
With record-breaking advance bookings in Hyderabad and strong numbers worldwide, OG is now set for its premieres tonight. All eyes are on how the film performs once it hits the big screens.
