Cinematic universes are becoming popular in Indian cinema, with directors connecting different films into one bigger story. In South Indian cinema, this trend has worked well, with Tamil films by Lokesh Kanagaraj and the Malayalam film Lokah attracting audiences and doing well at the box office. Fans have been guessing if Telugu films will follow the same path, especially with Sujeeth’s upcoming movie, They Call Him OG.
The film, starring Pawan Kalyan, is releasing in a few hours. The trailer showed hints of connections to Prabhas’ Saaho, with similar landmarks , which fueled rumors about a cinematic universe.
Sujeeth has now confirmed these rumors. He shared a note thanking everyone who worked on the film and hinted at creating the Sujeeth Cinematic Universe (SCU). He thanked his family, assistant directors, technicians producers Danayya and Kalyan Dasari, composer Thaman, editor Navin Nooli, cinematographers Ravi K. Chandran and Manoj, and other team members. Sujeeth told fans to enjoy the film and said that “this is only the beginning,” hinting that the universe will expand in the future.
Fans can expect some references to Saaho in They Call Him OG, and a post-credit scene may give a glimpse of what’s coming next in the SCU. With the film’s release, audiences are excited to see how Sujeeth’s cinematic universe starts and what stories it will explore in the future.
