After Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna also approached the court in order to protect his personality rights. Nagarjuna submitted that he was aggrieved by three infringements – pornographic websites, the sale of merchandise by unauthorisedly using the actor’s personality traits, and various YouTube videos. The court orally responded in his favour now.
“When you can identify the URLs, the best is to direct them to take down. Will pass orders,” the court orally said to the actor and also plans to issue the orders soon. However, the court also listed the matter for hearing on January 23rd.
Nagarjuna, through his counsel, argued that several shorts on YouTube and some promotional videos linked to Nagarjuna are tarnishing his image. He requested the protection of his personality rights in this matter. The Delhi High Court observed that once material is uploaded to the Internet, generative AI models can recognise it.
On the work front, Nagarjuna was last seen in Coolie and Kubera.
