STR 49, tentatively titled, directed by Vetrimaaran and starring Simbu, is generating a lot of excitement for a reason. The film is not a sequel to Vada Chennai, but the story takes place in the Vada Chennai universe. This also marks Vetrimaaran’s first cinematic universe.
A short glimpse of the film was released on September 4, Vetrimaaran’s 50th birthday. Producer Kalaippuli S Thanu has announced that the full promo will be released on October 4. Meanwhile, there is speculation about the music. Vetrimaaran usually collaborates with GV Prakash, Santhosh Narayanan, or Ilaiyaraaja. This time, rumors suggest that Anirudh Ravichander might be composing the music for the film.
If true, this will be the first collaboration between Vetrimaaran and Anirudh. It will also mark the first time Simbu and Anirudh are working together, even though they have been friends for years. Fans are excited about this new combination.
Vetrimaaran’s films are largely known for raw, rustic settings, while Anirudh has not worked in this style before. This makes STR 49 a fresh experiment for both the director and the composer. Fans are curious to see how Anirudh’s music will fit with Vetrimaaran’s style.
The promo release on October 4 is expected to confirm whether Anirudh is officially part of the project. With this first-time trio of Vetrimaaran, Simbu, and Anirudh, STR 49 is shaping up to be one of the most awaited films in Tamil cinema for fans of Vetrimaaran’s work.
