Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 has taken the box office by storm. The film collected an incredible Rs. 235 crore worldwide in just three days, rewriting records for Kannada and Indian cinema. It also sold over 50 lakh tickets on BookMyShow, a massive milestone for any Indian film.
The film released during the long Dussehra weekend, which turned out to be the perfect timing for this divine epic. Families have been rushing to theatres to experience the powerful story and spiritual atmosphere the film offers. Every scene is being met with huge applause and emotion across theatres.
In North America too, Kantara Chapter 1 has performed exceptionally well, earning over 2 million dollars, which is a huge achievement for a Kannada film.
The movie, written, directed, and acted by Rishab Shetty, explores the ancient South Karnataka tradition of Bhoota Kola. Produced by Hombale Films, this chapter serves as a prequel to the original Kantara and has connected deeply with audiences.
In Telugu states, Mythri Movie Makers handled the release, ensuring a wide and well-planned distribution. Despite facing strong competition, the film maintained strong momentum throughout the weekend and emerged as a clear winner.
