Among the Dusshera festival releases, Kannada film Kantara: Chapter 1 alone is performing well at the box office. Starring Rishab Shetty, the film was dubbed into other languages and was given a pan-Indian release. Rishab is also the director of the movie, and going by the trade reports, the film is having a promising second week at the box office.
The original Kannada version is doing well on weekdays as well. On Monday, the film posted very good numbers, indicating that the Kantara storm will not subside at the box office anytime soon. The other language versions are also doing well, attracting the crowds during the evening and night shows.
The Telugu version must pick up a little more, with a huge target in front of it. The film must break even with huge stakes already involved. The original storm has hit the box office, and the team behind Kantara must capitalize on this opportunity to promote the film further and achieve the desired revenue.
In the next two weeks, the Diwali festival will ring in, and with no major releases at the box office, we have to see if Kantara continues to perform consistently.
