The Diwali releases this year are under the promotion phase. Four films are competing at the box office this year, and each of the films has a certain target to reach the breakeven point in all areas. Especially in North America, all of these movies are valued highly.
For these films to reach the breakdown, the audience must show a great reception. Of all the four films, three are straight films, but only one is a dubbed movie. Interestingly, Pradeep Ranganathan’s Dude has a big number to reach at the North America box office.
As per reports, Dude needs to cross $3.8M to reach break-even, which is high compared to other Diwali releases.
To reach that big number, support of the Telugu audiences is key to the film. The trailer already received a positive response, but it is just not enough. Word of mouth will become crucial in reaching the big target. Usually, the support of Tamil audiences will be less for Telugu dubbed films, but the Telugu audiences are always open to encouraging any language films.
So, the existing upper hand of Telugu audiences in the North American market must help Dude achieve the target.
