Mythri Movie Makers’ recent Tamil film Dude, released on Friday and received positive word of mouth. On its first day, Dude earned 22 crores worldwide, according to the makers. A press meet was held in Hyderabad on Saturday where producers and actor Pradeep Ranganathan thanked the media and audience for the success.
During the press meet, discussions also touched on Mythri’s upcoming projects, including Ustaad Bhagat Singh. The film stars Pawan Kalyan and is directed by Harish Shankar. This marks the reunion of Pawan Kalyan and Harish Shankar after over a decade, following the success of Gabbar Singh in 2012.
Producer Naveen Yerneni shared that no major updates will be revealed this Diwali. However, Harish Shankar is carefully planning the film’s promotion, including teaser, songs and trailer releases in the coming days. Harish described Ustaad Bhagat Singh as a project that will “unleash his hunger” built up over the last 12 years.
Harish’s previous directorial, Mr. Bachchan starring Ravi Teja, was a remake of the Hindi film Raid and failed at the box office. His last hit was Gaddalakonda Ganesh in 2019. For Harish, Ustaad Bhagat Singh is an important film to mark a successful comeback.
Currently, Harish Shankar is in the final stages of shooting Ustaad Bhagat Singh. After this, his next project is not confirmed, though he is in discussions with big names like Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri Balakrishna, and a few Bollywood stars.
