Tamil actor Vishal, who is also well-known to Telugu audiences, has launched his own podcast titled Yours Frankly Vishal. The actor announced it on Thursday through social media, saying the show will feature his “unfiltered and unscripted” opinions. He added that the podcast is a space where he’ll speak only the truth.
The first episode of the podcast was released on Friday, and Vishal made strong remarks about film awards. Speaking on the topic, he said, “I don’t believe in awards. Awards are bullsh*t. Eight people can’t decide what eight crore or eighty crore people like. This includes national awards too. It’s not because I didn’t get one. I just don’t believe in the concept itself. If someone gives me an award, I’ll throw it in the dustbin.”
This isn’t the first time Vishal has spoken against awards. A few years ago, during an event in Chennai, he expressed a similar opinion, saying that the real recognition comes from the audience. “With their blessings, I’ve been in the industry for years. That is my biggest award,” he said at the time.
Meanwhile, Vishal has also taken over as director for his upcoming film Magudam after creative differences with filmmaker Ravi Arasu. The film marks the 35th project of his career and stars Dushara Vijayan in a key role.
On the personal front, Vishal got engaged to actress Sai Dhanshika on his birthday in August this year. The engagement was a private ceremony in Chennai attended by close friends and family. The couple is expected to tie the knot soon.
