Harshavardhan Rane is one of the actors in Indian cinema who started off in South and then entered the Bollywood space. Harshavardhan’s latest release, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, is currently performing well at the box office, surprising the critics and audiences. As a result, an overenthusiastic Harshavardhan urges the audience to support the outsiders and put an end to nepotism.
Sharing happiness over the positive reception for his film and Ayushmann Khurrana’s Thamma this Diwali, Harshavardhan called himself and Ayushmann outsiders. He thanked the audience for encouraging outsiders and made a comment saying, “Aap logon ne Bollywood se poora NEPOTISM hi khatm kar diya!”
Harshavardhan is a self-made actor who worked in many films down South before making it big in Bollywood. He attempted a series of romantic entertainers, which elevated his image as an actor in Hindi cinema. He might have undergone a lot of struggles as an outsider, which is reflected in his comments.
In the recent past, Jahnvi Kapoor’s films and Varun Dhawan’s films did not fare at the box office. The other actors whose films were released with family support tasted flops. Having said that, Harshavardhan’s comments are also not entirely true. There are some brilliant actors who are the products of nepotism, over which they have no say it.
It is important to exist and co-exist, and only then, the industry will flourish. In the future, Harshavardhan may have to even work with the nepo kids which is inevitable when everyone is a part of the same eco system.
