Kalki Bags A Big Award, But What About Sequel?

Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD was one of the biggest hits last year, earning more than Rs. 1000 crores at the box office. During its release, the makers announced that the sequel to this movie would begin this year, but that didn’t happen. However, Kalki is back in the news again, as it won the “Film of the Year” at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2025.

The awards were announced yesterday, and Kalki bagged the honour, beating the likes of other blockbuster films like Pushpa 2, Stree 2, Hanu-Man and Amaran. While Allu Arjun bagged the Most Versatile Actor award for Pushpa 2, Sai Pallavi was honoured with the Most Versatile Actress award for the film Amaran.

After the cliffhanger ending in Kalki, fans were eagerly waiting for the sequel. Sadly, there has been no update about it till now. However, it is now confirmed that Deepika Padukone will no longer be a part of the film due to creative differences. Considering Prabhas’s current lineup, the film is expected to hit the floors in the second half of 2026, but anyway, we have to wait for an official update from the makers.
