The Raja Saab Testing Fans’ Patience

The Raja Saab fronted by reigning pan-India superstar Prabhas is the biggest Sankranti film of Tollywood. The makers unveiled the theatrical trailer well in advance much to the suprise of trade circles and moviebuffs only to create huge anticipation for the film and boost the pre-release market. But, the team went into complete silence thereafter despite the fact that the release date is fast approaching.

The first single of this Maruthi directional was supposed to be out by this time. However, the song release has been delayed due to unknown reasons. Even though the team has quashed postponement rumours and maintained that the film is on track for release on January 9th, the delay in kicking off the promotional campaign has been very frustrating to Prabhas’ fans. 

Other Sankranti releases like Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankar Vara Prasad  Garu and Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan have already started promotions with the release of first songs. Even Ram Charan’s Peddi, which is slated for release in next March, also had its first single launched recently. All these songs are ruling the music charts and translating into strong buzz on these movies.

Contrary to this trend, The Raja Saab team is yet to flag off promotions. What is more worrying for fans is that The Raja Saab is going to have a wide release in different languages and also needs to recoup huge investment through its theatrical run given that the budget is over 400 Crores and Prabhas’ huge stardom beyond Tollywood.

With exactly two months left for a humongous release worldwide, The Raja Saab cannot afford to delay promotions any futher. The first single will play a vital role in generating more buzz around the film in Hindi and other languages. So, the production house should make sure that the song is launched immediately without any more delay. There are a lot of expectations on composer SS Thaman to match the high expectations on the album and background score. 

Apart from Prabhas, the film features Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar in lead roles. Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt plays a pivotal role in this film.
