Weight loss in films is like trying to catch smoke, it seems visible, but hard to hold. Tamannaah Bhatia recently got everyone talking after her sudden weight change. Critics and trolls were quick to blame drugs like Ozempic, while fans cheered her new look. Now, Tamannaah has finally opened up about the buzz, body image, and the pressure to fit certain beauty standards.
Talking to Bollywood news, she said she has always had a slender frame, especially in her 20s. “I’ve been in front of the camera since 15. People have seen me grow up, so there’s nothing to hide. Till my late 20s, I was always lean. This body right now? Not new to me. I’ve grown like this and stayed like this.” She made it clear that her recent transformation isn’t some dramatic change, it’s just part of how her body evolves.
Tamannaah admitted that the Covid period was tricky. “It hit my body hard. I struggled to keep my old weight while doing shoots. I love my food, rice, roti, dal, but at times I kept thinking, ‘Is my tummy showing?’” She stressed that changes like inflammation and natural curves are normal. “My curves aren’t going anywhere. I’m Sindhi. And honestly, I don’t aim to follow global beauty standards. People love our curves; it’s time we embrace them.”
On the work front, Tamannaah has been busy. She appeared in Odela 2, Raid 2, and a special song, Ghafoor in Baaaads of Bollywood. More projects are lined up in Tamil and Hindi, from lead roles to song cameos. With her open talk about body image and a packed film schedule, Tamannaah shows that you can stay real, embrace yourself, and still be a star on screen.
