Popular director Lokesh Kanagaraj is turning into an actor with the upcoming film, DC. Lokesh is playing the lead hero in this movie, directed by Arun Matheswaran. Sun Pictures is bankrolling the project. Meanwhile, it is being widely rumoured that Lokesh is receiving a remuneration of around Rs. 35 crores for this movie.
The reports stated that the hefty paycheque is not only for Lokesh’s acting but also for his contribution to the script. However, this news is sparking a debate on social media, receiving divided opinions among netizens.
During the interviews for his last directorial Coolie, Lokesh openly revealed that he received a salary of Rs. 50 crores for this movie. Due to the high salary for directorial films, rumours about the salary for DC are gaining strength.
However, a section of people on social media opined that DC will not be a bigger film than Lokesh’s directorial ventures and thus, taking such a hefty salary wouldn’t make much sense. They also argued that his salary would increase the budget for the film and might put producers at risk later on.
On the whole, DC started trending widely on Tamil social media, thanks to Lokesh’s salary rumours. However, neither Lokesh nor the rest of the movie’s team responded to the rumours yet.
