Is Pooja Hegde Choosing Kollywood Over Tollywood?

Pooja Hegde, who started her career more than a decade ago, worked in Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil films early on. She became a known face in Telugu cinema after pairing with top stars like Allu Arjun, Jr NTR, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, and Ram Charan. After the pandemic, she shifted attention to Bollywood but couldn’t find the right success there.

Now, Pooja seems to be concentrating more on Tamil films. After Beast with Thalapathy Vijay, she signed back-to-back projects in Kollywood. She was seen in Retro opposite Suriya and made a special appearance in Rajinikanth’s Coolie.

Pooja is again teaming up with Vijay for Jana Nayagan and has also joined Raghava Lawrence’s Kanchana 4. She is almost finalized for a Dhanush film to be directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, who scored a big hit with Amaran last year.

On the Telugu front, Pooja’s lineup looks rather quiet. She has one film with Dulquer Salmaan, but her last film with a major Telugu star was about four years ago. There’s buzz that she might team up with Nani in Sujeeth’s next, though nothing has been confirmed yet.

With multiple Tamil films in hand and fewer Telugu projects, it looks like Pooja is making a conscious shift toward Kollywood. Whether it’s a planned career move or just a phase, the actress seems set to explore more in Tamil cinema for now.
