It’s Going To Be A ‘Mega’ Summer In 2026

It had been a disappointing phase for Mega heroes after Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya until the release of Pawan Kalyan’s OG because films like Bro, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, Game Changer, Bhola Shankar, Operation Valentine and Matka failed to live up to the high expectations of fans.

Pawan Kalyan’s OG offered a big sigh of relief and ended the flop streak. Now, all eyes are on Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu which is aiming for release during the Sankranti festival. 

Meanwhile, remaining all Mega heroes are gearing up to dominate Summer 2026 with back-to-back releases. First in the line is Ram Charan’s highly anticipated rural drama Peddi, which is carrying huge expectations due to the strong pre-release buzz. The film is said to be shaping up very well and the hype is just getting bigger with each passing day. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi is undoubtedly the most eagerly awaited film of Summer. 

A few weeks after Peddi, Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh will hit the screens. The cop drama, directed by Harish Shankar, has been in the making for quite some time now. After the massive success of OG, the buzz on Ustaad Bhagat Singh received a big boost as fans are expecting vintage Pawan Kalyan in this mass fare. 

Chiranjeevi’s long delayed magnum opus Vishwambhara, which was supposed to hit the screens this year, has been postponed several times due to technical issues. The film is being mounted on a huge budget and will target Summer season to take advantage of holidays for its long run. Mallidi Vasistha is calling shots for this social fantasy thriller. 

Besides these biggies Sai Durgha Tej’s Sambaralu Yeti Gattu, which piqued the curiosity of moviegoers with a strong teaser, will also aim to release during the Summer season next year. The high-octane action drama is generating decent buzz due to the strong pre-release reports. Another Mega hero Varun Tej, who is struggling to deliver a decent hit, will also look to make a strong comeback with his upcoming comedy caper Korean Kanakaraju, which may also pick summer or post summer date.

Overall, it is going to be a Mega Summer next year. It will be a solid haul at the box office if these films manage to get decent talk during the holiday season with soaring mercury levels.
