Mexico is celebrating big today. Fatima Bosch just won Miss Universe 2025, beating more than 100 contestants from across the world.
Thailand’s Praveenar Singh came in as first runner-up, and last year’s queen, Denmark’s Victoria Kjær Theilvig, crowned the new winner with a warm hug. After five long years, Mexico finally has the crown back.
Fatima’s journey is honestly inspiring. She grew up in Villahermosa and dealt with dyslexia, ADHD and hyperactivity, all at once. Tough combo, but she turned it into fuel. She studied fashion design in Mexico City, later sharpened her craft in Milan, and now creates cool, sustainable designs using discarded materials. Even before the finale, she ended up in headlines when a video showed the Miss Universe director yelling at her. The organisation didn’t waste time, they pulled him out immediately.
On the final night, Fatima spoke with a steady, confident tone. Her answers on women’s challenges and staying authentic hit the right note. India had its moment too, Manika Vishwakarma reached the Top 12 before getting cut after the swimsuit round. Not the finish we hoped for, but still a strong run.
