Thalapathy’s One Last Time, But Not In India

Kollywood star Thalapathy Vijay, who took plunge into active politics, has already announced that his upcoming film Jana Nayagan will be his swansong for acting career. Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is getting ready for a massive release on January 9th as a Pongal treat and there are huge expectations among trade circles and moviebuffs. Pooja Hegde is the female lead. 

As speculated in Tamil media, the much-anticipated audio launch of Jana Nayagan has been officially announced to take place on December 27th in a grand style in Malaysia at Bukit Jalil Stadium. The production house has unveiled a five minute glimpse reliving many iconic moments from Vijay’s illustrious career and included his trademark dialogues to make this announcement. The event is likely to be held on a spectacular note as this is Vijay’s last outing as an actor before he turns a full time political leader under his TVK party. 

It seems like the makers choose Malaysia as the venue for the audio launch due to security reasons in India. Even for his previous film like Leo, permission for Audio launch was denied. Also, in the aftermath of the unfortunate stampede during his political rally which killed several supporters, getting permission for audio launch event will be very tough and risky. Hence, the makers decided to organise the event outside India. 

Malaysia has a sizeable population of Tamil settlers and Kollywood films find solid patronage there. So, the event is expected to witness strong turnout of spectators. There is a lot of anticipation for his reaction after the incident and also because this will be his farewell speech as an actor. Hence, all eyes will be on the audio launch event. 

Music composer Anirudh Ravichander is likely to perform live during the event. The first single Thalapathy Kacheri already emerged as a chartbuster. There is huge buzz on the rest of the album.
