Will This Telugu Director Revive Salman Khan’s Career?

With Telugu cinema gaining global appreciation in recent years, Bollywood actors are willing to star in Tollywood movies and work with filmmakers down South. Many Hindi actors are coming forward to team up with talented directors in Telugu and Tamil to score big hits. Shah Rukh Khan delivered a huge blockbuster with Atlee’s Jawan in 2023 and Ranbir Kapoor scored massive hit with Sandeep Reddy’s Animal. 

Now, another top league Bollywood star is going to work with a South Indian director. As per SVC producer Sirish’s confirmation, Salman Khan has agreed to unite with renowned producer Dil Raju for a big-budget film in 2026. Director Vamshi Paidipally, who worked under the same production house for films like Munna, Brindavanam, Yevadu, Maharshi and Varisu (Vaarasudu) has reportedly readied a script for Salman Khan and got the final approval for taking the project on sets. 

Salman Khan’s recent films barring Dabanggg 3 and Tiger 3 failed to make an impact on the box office. Even his previous outing Sikandar, which was helmed by AR Murugadoss, ended up as an embarassing debacle. He is hoping for a strong comeback with his next film and finalized Vamshi Paidipally’s script. 

On the other side, Vamshi Paidipally has been waiting since the past two years to find a suitable Bollywood hero for his script. He previously narrated a script to Aamir Khan, but the project didn’t take off due to unknown reasons. His last film Varasudu with Thalapathy Vijay received mixed response from audience. So, he wants to deliver a big hit to sustain amid huge competition from new age filmmakers. 

Vamshi Paidipally will have his task cut out to present Salman Khan in a completely new avatar and his script will need to match the actor’s stardom. We have to wait and see if Vamshi Paidipally can deliver big with Salman Khan or not ?
