Japan box office is one of the emerging markets of Tollywood due to the growing demand for Telugu movies in recent times. Japanese audience started showering immense love on our actors after SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster film RRR performed exceedingly well. Though Devara and Kalki 2898AD did find much traction there, trade experts believe that top-league Telugu stars have the potential to create a box office euphoria in Japan.
Now, it is reigning pan-india star Allu Arjun’s turn to storm the Japanese box office with his record breaking crime drama Pushpa 2 : The Rule. As per latest reports, the sequel will hit the screens all over Japan on January 16th. Interestingly, the first part of Pushpa didn’t release in Japan, but the team is now pushing for massive release for the sequel due to its global success.
Though Pushpa 2 was shot small portions in Japan, the story has a crucial connection with Tokyo where the narrative starts with lead protagonist’s fight against his rivals at the Yokohama port before a flashback explains how he got there. So, there are strong chances for Japanese crowd to connect with the sequel. Moreover, if Allu Arjun plans to land in Japan and woo audience there as part of promotions, Pushpa 2 will be get a big boost for sure.
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 emerged as one of the biggest hits of all time in the history of Indian cinema with worldwide gross of around 1800 Crores. So, all eyes will be on its performance at the Japan box office. If the film manages to punch out solid revenues, Allu Arjun’s global appeal will soar further.
