Indian woman cricketer Smriti Mandhana has finally broke silence on ongoing rumours about her marriage with her boyfriend and music composer Palash Muchhal. She officially announced through her Instagram story that both families have called off the wedding and requested privacy on this matter without any further speculations.
The wedding was supposed to take place on November 23rd in her hometown Sangli. Unfortunately, the ceremony was postponed indefinitely after her father Shrinivas fell seriously ill just hours before the marriage. The next day, Palash was also admitted to hospital due to some health issues.
After Smriti Mandhana deleted all her social media posts relating to her love life and marriage festivities, speculation grew about her relationship with Palash Muchhal. From the past few days, there have been numerous rumours that all is not well between Smriti and Palash.
Smriti now took to Instagram just a while ago and posted “Over the past few weeks there has been plenty of speculation around my life and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time. I am a very private person and I would like to keep it that way but I need to clarify that the wedding is called off.”
She added “I would like to close this matter here and implore all of you to do the same. I request you to please respect the privacy of both families at this time and allow us the space to process and move on at our own pace.”
“I believe there is a higher purpose driving us all and for me that has always been representing my country at the highest level. I hope to continue to play and win trophies for India for as long as possible and that is where my focus will forever be. Thank you for all your support. It’s time to move forward,” concluded Smriti.
