Vedalam is a super hit film in Tamil that was released in 2015. Ajith played the lead role, and Megastar Chiranjeevi is going to remake the movie in Telugu. Meher Ramesh is chosen to helm the project. Chiranjeevi officially confirmed a project with Meher Ramesh a couple of times in the past. Meher Ramesh also began the pre-production activities for the movie. What’s more surprising is that Meher Ramesh already started the shoot without Chiranjeevi.
Vedalam originally had Kolkata city as a backdrop. Meher Ramesh does not want to change it and decided to shoot the Telugu film in Kolkata as well. On the occasion of Dusshera in October, Meher Ramesh and his team members went to Kolkata to film the festival celebrations at the Durga temple. Meher Ramesh is happy with the shots he canned and will resume the film’s shoot next year again.
Chiranjeevi is currently occupied with the works of Acharya. After wrapping up Acharya, the shoot for Vedalam hits the floors. Chiranjeevi is also planning to begin the Lucifer remake, but he plans to wrap up the Vedalam remake in fewer days. Anil Sunkara is producing the movie under the AK Entertainments banner. Mahati Swara Sagar is the music director.
