Of late, the actors from the film industry are approaching the court securing permission for not allowing others to use their name and image online. The latest to join the list is Andhra Pradesh deputy CM Pawan Kalyan.
Pawan Kalyan approached the Delhi High Court today and the court has directed social media platforms and online companies to remove such content once Pawan Kalyan submits the details. Already, Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi, and NTR too approached the court in the past.
The Court clarified that anyone seeking urgent removal of objectionable online content must first approach the social media platforms instead of directly seeking a judicial order.
Well, interestingly, not just one actor but almost all top actors are choosing to file these petitions in the Delhi High Court instead of the AP or Telangana High Courts. This naturally raises a doubt among the public as to why everyone is approaching only the Delhi Court for the same issue.
Top celebrities are choosing the Delhi High Court mainly because it offers faster and more consistent orders in personality-rights cases. The court has already dealt with several similar petitions, so the process is quick, and the orders have strong nationwide impact.
Since most major social media platforms and online companies have their India offices or legal teams linked to Delhi, implementing removal orders becomes easier and more effective.
Another key reason is that many top legal agencies that handle personality-rights issues operate from Delhi, making the entire process smoother for celebrities.
Now, with courts also giving clear directions to protect the rights of actors, it’s high time for youth to stop these stuff, otherwise their lives will fall in danger. Obtaining legal protection from using unauthorised photos surfaced online has become a trend now and more actors will follow the same.
