Raja Saab Team Confirms Premieres Amid Minister’s Statement

Prabhas starrer ‘The Raja Saab’ is one of the most eagerly awaited films this Sankranti. The horror thriller is set for a grand release on January 9th worldwide. With stakes riding high on this Maruthi directional, trade circles are anticipating paid premieres in Telugu states going by the recent trend for big-ticket films.

Usually, paid premieres are confirmed only after getting required permissions from the state governments. But, The Raja Saab team has announced well in advance that the film will have premiere shows on January 8th. This announcement has come as a big surprise to everyone because Telangana Cinematography Minister recently announced that no more ticket hikes and premiere shows will be allowed after the High Court’s strong objection for recent biggies.

Of late, the Telangana High Court has been adopting a zero tolerance policy towards ticket hikes. Even though the state government is granting special privileges like hikes and paid premieres for big ticket films, the High Court is not leaving any opportunity to intervene and cancel the GOs immediately.

After Pawan Kalyan’s OG, Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 also faced the wrath of judicial scrutiny as the Government Orders issued by the ruling dispensation were cancelled by the High Court in no time. As the Court is coming down heavily on the state government for not following its orders in true spirit with regard to movies, the government has decided to not encourage ticket hikes for premiere shows.

When everyone is thinking that there won’t be any more premiere shows for marquee films in near future, The Raja Saab team came up with a shocking decision to announce that premiere shows will start from January 8th, one day before the grand release. It is unclear if the paid shows will be screened all over the country except Telangana or if the team has any other plans get permissions from the Court and the government.

We have to wait and see how the premiere shows scenario unfolds as the release date approaches.
