The re-release trend is gradually picking up in Kollywood. After the re-release of Padiyappa for Superstar Rajinikanth’s birthday recently, the fans of Ajith are now planning to re-release Mankatha. It is one of the best films of Ajith’s career that put him in the top place in the commercial game.

With Thalapathy Vijay’s all time re release record still standing tall, a feat that even Rajinikanth’s Padayappa could not surpass, it will be interesting to see whether Ajith’s Mankatha can come close. Breaking that mark looks unlikely, as minting nearly Rs 30 crore through a re release is no easy task. Still, fans continue to pin their hopes on their favourite star and his iconic film.

Mankatha is scheduled for a grand re-release next month.
