Ram Charan’s Gutsy Move: Puts Authenticity Over Comfort

Top-league actors often get certain privileges while working on their films. Most of them insist directors to plan indoors schedules or foreign locations to avoid public glare and other issues. This comfort strategy helps producers as well because it will minimise the shooting expenses like travel and other inevitable arrangements that are necessary to shoot in public.

While many Tollywood actors choose to adopt the same strategy, Ram Charan seems to be going to against the grain for his films. Let it be his previous outing Game Changer or the upcoming rural drama Peddi, Charan has no inhibitions to shoot in authentic locations rather to bring an organic feel to the scenes and the screen play.

Majority of the scenes in Game Changer were shot outside in public locations. From songs to action episodes, most of the filming took place in real locations. Now, for Buchi Babu’s Peddi, the RRR actor is once again preferring to work in original locations which is a gutsy move because it comes with so many risks like leakage of looks and scenes.

In the current era, many heroes prefer to work indoors and let the technical team and their directors to edit important episodes using green mat technology. This is an open secret and there is no denying this fact for big-ticket films.

But, Charan choosing reality over comfort proves his conviction and dedication towards his profession. Already, the blockbuster song Chikiri Chikiri garnered huge appreciation not just for the tune but also for the visually appealing locations.

The team braved hilly terrain and tough conditions to shoot this song in real locations. Recently, some pivotal scenes in the story were canned near Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi after securing all necessary permissions.

Charan could have insisted his producers to shoot inside sets instead of taking all pains and risks to shoot in authentic locations. But, he set an example with his professionalism. The team should ensure that there will be no leaks before the film’s release so that all the painstaking efforts don’t go in vain.
