As we know, Chinmayi has openly stated that she was unaware of the context or story of Draupathi 2 when she sang the “Emkoney” song.
Upon learning that Draupathi 2 is based on the history book titled Moondram Vallalla Maharaja, she immediately issued an apology statement. Chinmayi reiterated that her ideologies and the song’s context are not aligned. She also conveyed her apologies to Ghibran, the film’s music composer, for placing him in this unexpected situation.
Following Chinmayi’s statement, the makers of Draupathi 2 decided to replace her voice for the “Emkoney” song with another singer. They released a statement indicating that the final print of Draupathi 2 will feature the new voice, and Chinmayi’s version has been removed.
With director Mohan G’s statement regarding Draupathi 2, this controversy has concluded. However, the director and Draupathi 2 team came under public scrutiny following Chinmayi’s statement.
Ultimately, both parties reached an amicable resolution. Draupathi 2 received clearance from the Censor Board and will be hitting theaters soon.
