The combination of Megastar Chiranjeevi and Victory Venkatesh delivering wholesome fun has generated strong anticipation for Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, directed by Anil Ravipudi. With just a couple of days left for release, the film is riding high on expectations, thanks to impressive promos.
The Hook Step song has turned into the biggest sensation from the album, and Anil Ravipudi shares the story behind its creation.
“Initially, we planned a melody-based mass number for that slot. Since Meesala Pilla and Sasirekha were already melody tracks, I felt the new tune wasn’t entirely satisfying. During the shoot, sudden rain halted everything. Chiranjeevi said nature had given us a signal. That’s when we reconsidered the idea. This song was actually meant to be released in the place of Sasirekha. We finally shot it during the last schedule, and that’s when the mega magic happened.
Bheems delivered an outstanding tune. Choreographer Aata Sandeep had long wished to work on a Chiranjeevi song, and this project gave him that chance. He absolutely nailed it. The term Hook Step was coined by lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry,” he revealed.
The director also shared a key element that hasn’t been disclosed till now. “Along with comedy, there’s a strong emotional layer. Scenes involving Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara, and the kids will strike an emotional chord. The film presents a fresh take on how a couple deals with marital issues. It’s something everyone can relate to- audiences will feel, ‘Yes, that’s exactly how it is.’”
Post his comeback, Chiranjeevi hasn’t ventured much into pure family entertainers. “He hadn’t touched classic family genres like Annayya or Bavagaru Bagunnara after his return. That thought stayed with me. This blockbuster family space suits him perfectly, so I developed the story accordingly. His blend of fun and emotional depth will take audiences on a nostalgic ride. I’m confident every admirer of Chiranjeevi as both an actor and a person will walk out saying, ‘Wow.’”
Anil Ravipudi stated that both Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh gave him complete creative freedom. “Their combination brings about 20 minutes of nonstop laughter. Venkatesh plays Venky Gowda, a mining businessman from Karnataka.”
Anil Ravipudi also expressed his wish to direct Nagarjuna in the future, which would allow him to work with four of the industry’s top stars.
Advance bookings have opened today in both the Telugu states, and the film is already trending at No 1 position on BookMyShow.
