A Crucial Weekday Test Awaits Sankranti Releases

It has been a phenomenal box office season for Tollywood during this year’s Sankranti festival. Despite too many releases and huge shortage of screens, all films witness packed theatres in both Telugu states taking advantage of the festive mood in public. In overseas too, Telugu films dominated the entire week with a strong run.

Now that the festival is over and the first weekend also ended on a positive note for films like Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Anaganaga Oka Raju and Nari Nari Naduma Murari, a crucial weekday test begins from tomorrow for all movies.

As it will be a working Monday, all films will usually see a drop in collections. But, they should maintain decent occupancies on weekdays in order sustain at the box office and add more revenues into their kitty.

While Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu is likely to remain the first choice for moviegoers and continue its strong run despite witnessing minor dip in the collections, it will be very crucial for both Anaganaga Oka Raju and Nari Naduma Murari to hold well till the next weekend to surpass more important trade milestones.

Both Raja Saab and Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi, which started off well and later fell flat, might experience significant drop in the numbers from tomorrow due to the below par word of mouth, but they will hold some screens till weekend to test their luck.

It will be an acid test for all films because the final verdict of box office will depend on how they perform during the weekdays after the end of festival and first weekend.
