Shahid Kapoor teams up with filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj once again for the upcoming movie titled O’Romeo. The film is billed to be a gangster drama, hinting at a stylised Western set deep within Mumbai’s criminal underworld. The film unit launched the trailer today, generating curiosity around the project.
Going by the trailer, the film is set against the gritty streets of Mumbai, where Shahid Kapoor plays a feared gangster, a violent anti-hero whose reputation precedes him. On one fine day, Tripti Dimri meets him, seeking protection but then, begins a relationship that has too many twists and turns.
The trailer assures another badass flick which will surely open a lot of debate when it releases at the box office. We can safely assume that O’Romeo is another bloody and bold attempt redefining the gangster film genre, with a Western approach. If it clicks, it will revive the trend and if it doesn’t, it may open a lot of criticism.
Avinash Tiwary is positioned as the main antagonist, while Disha Patani makes a brief yet striking appearance in a dance sequence. The film also features Nana Patekar in a crucial role, with another special appearance from Vikrant Massey.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film will release on February 13th, 2026.
