Young Kollywood director Abishan Jeevinth turned the spotlight after his debut film Tourist Family bagged critical acclaim from all quarters and emerged as a sleeper hit. He is now making his onscreen debut as an lead actor with a coming-of-age romantic drama ‘With Love’, which marks the directional debut of his assistant Madhan.
Ahead of the film’s release on February 6th, the makers have unveiled the theatrical trailer and it promises a familiar youthful romantic drama with heartfelt emotions and neat humour. It stars Abishan and Answara Ranjan in lead roles. The trailer entirely focuses on establishing their relationship from uniting for a common goal to falling in love.
The two and a half minute glimpse takes the viewers on a youthful ride as the lead pair embarks on a quirky trip to reconnect with their school crushes to speak their mind and express their undisclosed love. In this process, they ultimately end up seeing one another. How they navigate the family consequences from this point forms the rest of the plot.
The interesting trailer is fully packed with heartwarming episodes and funny conversations before taking a dramatic turn involving serious emotions among all leading characters. Both Abishan Jeevinth and Answara Ranjan shine in in their respective roles as they carry emotions with earnest performances. The music score rendered by Sean Roldan is a big asset for the film.
Director Madan seems to have tried a new concept with a familiar treatment as love stories set in school and college backdrop usually find solid traction with youth. If he succeeds in giving fresh feel with engaging narration, With Love will have a chance to emerge as another feel good romantic hit.
