Veteran singer Udit Narayan’s Meesala Pilla is still trending on the charts, and he has now attracted new controversy.
His first wife, Ranjana Narayan Jha, alleged that Udit is a part of a criminal conspiracy that allegedly resulted in the removal of her uterus without her consent. She lodged a complaint on February 10 at the Women’s Police Station in Supaul district, Bihar, with regard to the same.
Ranjana also named Udit’s two brothers and his second wife, Deepa Narayan, in the complaint. She mentioned that all of them were present during the procedure.
She also added that she learned about it only years later, when she underwent a medical examination. Ranjana now claims to be unwell and requires support, alleging that Udit has failed to assist her despite repeated assurances.
Ranjana had previously filed a maintenance case against the singer. The National Human Rights Commission and the Bihar Human Rights Commission also took up the complaint, arguing that Udit’s second marriage may be invalid under the Hindu Marriage Act if no legal divorce occurred.
Udit Narayan and Ranjana were married on December 7, 1984, in a traditional Hindu ceremony. Udit Narayan has denied the allegations, stating that the case is an attempt to extort money and that facts have been misrepresented in court.
