Versatile Kollywood actor Dhanush, who has multiple projects in the pipeline, has landed in a legal row with one of the leading production banners of Tamil film industry. The issue has now become a hot topic in the industry circles. Recently, Bollywood actor and Dhurandhar fame Ranveer Singh received a similar notice from the makers of Don 3.
As per reports, Dhanush has been served a legal notice by Thenandal Films for allegedly not fulfilling a professional obligation for the last decade. The production house has reportedly claimed 20 Crores compensation from Dhanush for causing considerable financial strain by refusing to commence a project titled Naan Rudran.
According to the notice sent by the producer through his advocate, Dhanush had originally agreed to direct and feature as the lead role in the film way back in 2016. Despite complying with change of plans cited by Dhanush, the project is said to have not taken off beyond discussion stages, causing significant monetary loss to the producer who paid advances to finance the pre-production activities.
The producer also alleged that he spent money on actor like Nagarjuna and SJ Suryah who were supposed to be a part of this high profile film. In the complaint, it was alleged that Dhanush has intentionally ignored to allot dates to this film and went on to act in other projects in these ten years. The production house warned to take further legal course if the demands are not met within the stipulated time.
Neither Dhanush nor his team has responded on this legal notice so far. Meanwhile, he is currently busy working on his next projects which are in different stages of production.
