Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay is facing a very peculiar situation as his film, Jana Nayagan is facing an extremely elongated and complicated legal battle. This film was supposed to release during the Pongal season itself, but got postponed due to the censorship and subsequent legal approach taken by the makers.
Coming to the topic now, the latest communication from the Canada distributor of this film is spelling bad news to Thalapathy fans.
The communication from York Cinemas, who is distributing this film in Canada confirms that the film would not be releasing in theatres until April 30. They have issued an official note to this effect a short while back and apologised to fans for what’s happening.
This is a strong indication that the film would not be releasing in theatres till the completion of Tamil Nadu assembly elections, which are fast approaching.
But for now, we have to patiently wait for the official word from the producers, which is still pending. And if the delay is indeed confirmed, and the film would be releasing only after the election, then fans will have to face the disappointment and wait a lot longer than expected.
