Kayadu Lohar is currently in the news after the release of her latest film Funky, which was released last week. The movie had good hype before release because of the combination of Vishwak Sen and director Anudeep KV of Jathi Ratnalu fame. However, the film did not perform well at the box office. Many critics called it a weak and lazy parody with a poor screenplay. The film earned just over 6 crore against a budget of around 25 crore and saw a drop in collections over the opening weekend. Though Kayadu’s performance as Chitra was appreciated for being natural and easy, the weak story did not help the film, and it is now heading towards a flop.
