Niharika Konidela is riding high on the success of Committee Kurrollu, a small film that turned into a big winner. The project not only impressed audiences but also made a mark during the awards season.
Director Yadhu Vamsi bagged the Best debut director honour, while Sandeep Saroj bagged Best Debut actor in Telugu at the Filmfare Awards held in Kochi the other days.
However, what should have been a celebratory evening reportedly ended on a disappointing note. Though the duo attended the ceremony, they were allegedly not given the opportunity to deliver acceptance speeches. While the team cheered the recognition, Niharika later took to Instagram to express her concern over the event’s handling.
She pointed out that debut winners from Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada industries were not invited to speak on stage. For newcomers, she wrote, standing on the prestigious Filmfare Awards stage is more than a formality, it is the realization of a lifelong aspiration.
Acknowledging that large-scale events operate under time limitations, Niharika stated that sparing even a minute for first-time winners could make a world of difference. She tagged the official Filmfare handle in her post, and many netizens echoed her sentiments in the comments. So far, the organisers have not issued any clarification.
