Director Boyapati Sreenu, who had been delivering mass blockbusters in Telugu, had never attempted a Pan-India film. But with Akhanda 2, Boyapati tried the feat. Despite not a positive outcome, director Boyapati Sreenu is not in a mood to give up his Pan India plans.
Boyapati reportedly met Ranveer Singh and narrated a story. Although it has not been officially announced, the film has been in discussion for a while, according to industry speculation.
However, Ranveer Singh’s unprecedented success with Dhurandhar and strong buzz for Dhurandhar 2 (slated for March 19 release) seems to have changed plans for Ranveer, as many big directors in Hindi are now after him. Amidst this, the Ranveer-Boyapati combo film seems to be put on hold.
Now, as per the latest reports, Boyapati is in plans to rope in Rana Daggubati. Given that Rana is known to Hindi audiences for his previous work, including Dum Maaro Dum, Baahubali, and the Rana Naidu web series, Boyapati is now feeling Rana would be apt for his story.
It is not clear whether Boyapati is roping in Rana for the same story he had narrated to Ranveer. But Boyapati wants to mount Rana’s movie on a large scale and canvas and is going to have a multi-lingual release.
Rana proved his mettle with Nene Raju Nene Mantri, with a different script and presentation by director Teja. It needs to be seen whether Boyapati would also come up with something different with Rana.
Boyapati is one who turned the fate of actors Jagapathi Babu and Aadhi Pinisetti by scripting powerful roles. Let’s hope Rana would also get one such mass elevation.
