There’s a growing buzz that acclaimed Hollywood director Christopher Nolan and cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema may oversee the final edit of Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious Ramayana project, though nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
These rumours have sparked wide interest and debate across social media and entertainment circles. Some insiders suggest the idea might actually be possible, especially since producer Namit Malhotra’s VFX company, DNEG, has played a key role in several of Nolan’s big Hollywood films.
This connection fuels speculation that a formal collaboration could happen, raising hopes of a stronger global buzz around the Indian epic. On the flipside, Nolan may be fully occupied with his own project The Odyssey, which is scheduled to release in July 2026 and is expected to demand his full attention and creative energy well into the year.
If Namit Malhotra really manages to bring Nolan on board in any capacity, it would be a huge step toward making Ramayana a truly global cinematic event. Such a move could significantly boost international interest in the film, even before its planned Diwali 2026 release.
