The much-awaited Dhurandhar 2 has confirmed its arrival by announcing the Trailer release tomorrow. Jio Studios, the producers of the film are planning Paid Premieres for the film from March 18th from 5 PM. Ustaad Bhagath Singh is planning them from 10 PM on the same day. That means competition begins much earlier.
We have reliably learned that they also want to Hike their prices across the country as the Runtime is 3 hours 40 minutes long which essentially limit number of shows in a day especially in Multiplexes.
It is pretty straight forward in the other states as most of the states have dynamic pricing. The opening prices may go up to around 25%. The makers are in two minds if they should go for a ticket price hike for the South Versions.
Another proposal is to limit the hike only for Multiplexes. And one more is the Special Hikes only for Premieres. Dhurandhar 2 is Jio Studios’ own Telugu release.
In Telangana, there is a complication in getting Special Premieres and Special Prices Permission. Not having a big hand is a problem to bargain with the Government.
But they feel if Ustaad Bhagath Singh makers can get the Permission somehow, they will also automatically get. But then, in competition, Dhurandhar 2 may benefit without Price Hikes. We will see if better sense will prevail.
Special Premieres without Hikes means huge damage to Ustaad Bhagath Singh. If they are priced higher, obviously the masses may prefer local star content.
