Oscars 2026: Most Deserved Winners, No Debate?

The Academy has announced the list of winners of the prestigious Oscar awards for the year 2026. Unlike the usual controversy, where people have opinions about the winners of the Best picture and actor award, there is a collective agreement this time around. 

The top five winners of the most aspired awards in the Oscar ceremony this year as below:

Best Picture – One Battle After Another

Best Director – Paul Thomas Anderson for One Battle After Another

Best Actor – Michael B. Jordan for Sinners

Best Actress – Jessie Buckley for Hamnet

Best Supporting Actor – Sean Penn for One Battle After Another

One Battle After Another has been one of the highly rated films from Hollywood in 2025, and it was always different line choice to win the award. In accordance with this, this Leonardo DiCaprio film turned out to be the expected winner of Oscar 2026.

Michael B Jordan, who is one of the legendary young actors of this generation has rightly won his first ever Oscars, and he is being applauded with wishes. He has won the Oscars for the critically claimed Sinners. 

In terms of volume, One Battle After Another has won a total of 6 Oscars this year. On the other hand, we have Sinners, which had one four Oscars. It had earlier created history by becoming one of the films with highest nominations at the academy and expectedly won 4 Oscars today. Frankenstein ended up winning 3 Oscars as well.

On the other hand, we have another interesting case study of the film Maruti Supreme, which had a total of nine nominations at the Academy, but ended up winning, not a single one of them. It went up for being one of the most anticipated films at the Oscars to an absolute bummer by not winning any nomination.
