Prasanth Varma serves as the showrunner for Mahakali, the third chapter in PVCU after the breakout success of HanuMan. Backed by RKD Studios, the film is produced by Rizwan Ramesh Duggal, directed by Puja Aparna Kolluru. Bhoomi Shetty leads the film as Mahakali, bringing a fierce and intense interpretation to the divine avatar.
Bollywood star Akshaye Khanna, whose previous flick Dhurandhar was a thumping hit is making a striking entry into the PVCU, playing the enigmatic Shukracharya. On his birthday, Prasanth Varma revealed a gripping new still from the sets, also confirming that the actor has wrapped his entire portion of the shoot.
With 100 days of filming already completed, the team has now moved into an intensive final 40-day schedule in Hyderabad. Parallelly, large-scale VFX work is progressing across multiple studios, aiming to deliver a visually monumental mythological experience.
As anticipation continues to build, the makers are set to announce the film’s release date soon.
