The Telugu circles and social media have the historic precedent of indulging in heated fan wars. Fans of all the star heroes form respective groups and quarrel with each other at every given chance.
But now we are witnessing a cross language fanwar culture brewing in Indian X (Twitter) space as the Telugu circles are at war with Hindi moviegoers.
This originated after several Telugu audience complained about the quality of the Ramayan teaser that was released recently. They were of the opinion that the graphic footage from this ₹4000 action epic is not even on par with Varanasi.
In response to this Hindi audience have started to complain about South Indian cinema and trying to project that Ramayan is going to be a superior product altogether.
It has reached a saturation point where the Telugu audience have started trolling the Hindi audience by pointing fingers at Ramayan and vice versa.
At the core of it, it is natural for native audience to like films of their language and nativity. There is absolutely no point in compartmentalising these two films and creating a divisive debate.
At the end of the day, the Indian audience will always encourage quality films, regardless of the language. This social media criticism and hate campaign must be pacified at the earliest before they cause further damage to either of the films.
