Box Office: April 17 Releases Need a Big Push!

The month of April has already seen two Fridays pass by, but the box office hasn’t witnessed any major breakthroughs. Films like Biker and Rakasa, despite receiving decent word of mouth, failed to create a strong impact. Their inability to fully satisfy audience expectations meant that collections have been slow, with even break even looking like a challenge.

The recently released Dacoit has opened on a decent note and is maintaining steady collections, though its final outcome is yet to be determined. On the other hand, Love Insurance Kompany is struggling big at the ticket window because of mixed talk.

Now, all eyes are on the April 17 releases. Naga Shaurya’s Bad Boy Karthik, which comes after a long gap, has failed to generate any buzz. Even on social media, the response has been dull, largely due to delays and a routine trailer.

Kiran Abbavaram’s production Thimmarajupalli TV has decent promotions, but whether it can translate into openings remains uncertain as it needs unanimous positive talk.

Another release is Paapam Pratap, starring Tiruveer, backed by ETV Win. Things look bleak for this film as there is no buzz. Fans are hoping he finally gets a theatrical breakthrough after OTT success.

Additionally, the Malayalam dubbed film Palli Chattambi is arriving after a brief postponement, along with Bollywood’s Bhoot Bangla, making April 17 a crucial test for the box office. One needs to see if these films click at the box office or Dhurandhar 2 continues to mint money big time.
