A Telugu Producer had dragged a Tamil Director to Tamil Producers Council. The director is none other than Cibi Chakravarthy who was supposed to direct #Thalaivar173. There are reports that he is now dropped.
Coming to the topic, The producer of the planned Telugu film with Nani is Chitturi Srinivasa.
Cibi narrated a storyline to Nani and the actor sent it to Chitturi. The director said he would finish the film in 65 Crore without remunerations which was fine for the Producer. Chitturi gave him a team of writers and opened an office in Chennai.
The director developed the story and gave another narration to Nani which the actor again liked. But this time, he went to the producer and said it would cost 150 Crore. He also refused to give any breakup for the Producer to see how the budget increased.
“If the budget shoots from 65 Crore to 150 Crore even before the Muhurtham. One can not imagine how much it will become by the time of the release,” the producer lamented.
He informed the hero and they mutually decided to call off the project.
Its been two and a half years now and Chitturi approached the Tamil Producers’ Council asking the director to payback 5 Crore which they invested on the project for Advances, Office Expenses, Salaries, and Interests. The director is only in favor of returning the advance he took.
Meanwhile, it is rumored that Nani is still interested in doing the film and asked another Producer to stay in touch with Cibi.
