Box Office: Can Dacoit Strike Gold This Weekend?

Despite registering only decent ticket sales at the box office so far, Dacoit may have found a silver lining this weekend. With no major releases hitting theatres and the recently released mid-range films receiving mixed reviews and lukewarm word of mouth, the current scenario could work in its favour.

The lack of strong competition often plays a crucial role in sustaining a film’s theatrical run, and Dacoit seems to be in a position to benefit from this gap. While the film hasn’t set the box office on fire, it hasn’t completely faded out either, leaving room for potential growth over the weekend.

Trade circles believe that if occupancy improves and walk-ins increase, Dacoit could witness a growth in collections. Although reaching the breakeven mark still looks challenging, a steady performance over the next few days can help in reducing overall losses for distributors.

This Friday, Thimmarajupalli TV, Bad Boy Karthik, and Papam Prathap are the films that hit the screens and have opened to mixed reviews. At this stage, the weekend becomes extremely crucial. A decent push now could extend Dacoit’s run and improve its final box office standing.
